Cloaking solutions, or cloakinglahendused, refer to techniques and devices designed to reduce an object's detectability to specific sensing methods or to obscure information from certain observers. In physical contexts, cloaking aims to steer waves—such as light, microwaves, sound, or heat—around a region so that the field outside the region is little disturbed, effectively making the object inside less detectable.

Types of cloaking solutions include optical or electromagnetic cloaks based on metamaterials and transformation optics, acoustic cloaks that manipulate sound waves, and thermal cloaks that guide heat flow. Optical cloaks strive for visibility reduction across particular frequencies, though practical bandwidth and material losses limit performance. Acoustic cloaks use carefully arranged structures to redirect sound, while thermal cloaks aim to maintain heat signatures as if the object were not present. Variants such as carpet cloaks and Plasmonic/cloaking designs illustrate the range of approaches, each with trade-offs in size, angle of incidence, polarization, and fabrication complexity.

In digital contexts, cloaking can refer to methods that present different information to different audiences, including search engines or monitoring systems. This form of cloaking raises ethical and legal concerns and is often restricted or penalized by platforms and laws aimed at preventing deception.

Current status remains largely experimental for broad, practical use, especially in the visible spectrum. Most cloaking demonstrations achieve functionality only in narrow bandwidths, specific angles, or limited environments, with ongoing research addressing material losses, scalability, and real-world viability.
