Churchmen is a term used to refer to men who hold positions within Christian church leadership. In English usage, it often denotes male clergy or church officials, especially those in positions of authority.

Within most denominations, churchmen occupy a range of offices. In many traditions, the basic clerical ranks include deacon, priest or pastor, and bishop; higher ranks include archbishop, metropolitan, patriarch, and cardinal in Catholic and some Orthodox and Anglican contexts. Other churchmen include abbots in monastic settings, although the term "churchmen" typically emphasizes male clerical leadership. Responsibilities commonly include leading worship and sacraments, providing pastoral care, teaching doctrine, and governing church affairs through synods or councils.

Different Christian traditions structure leadership differently. In the Roman Catholic Church, bishops govern dioceses under the pope; in the Eastern Orthodox Church, bishops and patriarchs oversee jurisdictions and councils; in Anglicanism, bishops oversee dioceses within national provinces; Protestant denominations may use pastors and elders rather than bishops.

Historically, churchmen have played central roles in education, politics, and social life in many regions, shaping laws and cultural norms through ecclesiastical authority and alliances with secular rulers. In contemporary usage, the term is less common as language has shifted toward inclusive terms; some contexts use "churchmen" to denote a male-dominated leadership, which can carry pejorative connotations in discussions about gender roles.
