These monitors are popular for several reasons. In computing, they allow for enhanced multitasking by enabling users to view multiple application windows side-by-side without overlap, which is often more effective than using two separate traditional monitors. This can improve productivity for tasks like coding, data analysis, and general office work.

For entertainment, particularly in gaming and watching movies, ultrawide monitors can provide a more immersive experience. The increased field of view in games can offer a competitive advantage by allowing players to see more of the game world.
