A boremaskin, known in English as a drill press, is a stationary power tool designed for precise drilling. It consists of a vertical spindle that holds a drill bit and a movable table or work surface. The tool is mounted on a stand or floor column, allowing repeated, perpendicular holes and consistent depths.

Key features include a chuck to hold bits, a quill or spindle assembly with controlled feed, depth stop, adjustable table, and variable speed through belt, gear, or electronic controls. Many models have a tilting or swiveling head to drill at angles or multi-sided operations.
