Regulation and standards differ by country. In many regions, biostimulants are regulated as a separate category from fertilizers and pesticides, with claims supported by evidence and proper labeling. Because products differ widely in composition, efficacy can be variable and dependent on crop, environment, and management practices.

Research continues to elucidate active components and to improve standardization, quality control, and regulatory frameworks, aiming to provide reliable, science-based guidance for farmers and agronomists.
