The result is a sound with strong musical energy and a pronounced rhythm, often perceived as more powerful on capable playback systems.

In audio production, bassbetonten mixes focus on a solid, driving low end while maintaining musical clarity in the rest of the spectrum. Techniques frequently used include boosting or reinforcing sub-bass in the 20–80 Hz range and bass or kick fundamentals around 60–120 Hz, along with careful EQ to prevent masking of midrange elements. Producers often employ parallel compression, saturation, and occasional distortion to add harmonics that help bass perceptually carry better on smaller speakers. Sidechain compression can be used to keep the bass from colliding with the kick, preserving groove. Sub-bass synthesis, such as sine or sine-like oscillators, is common to ensure a clean low-end foundation.
