Baittosurface is a term used to describe the approach of anchoring a molecular bait onto a solid surface to capture specific targets from a mixture. The bait may be an antibody, nucleic acid aptamer, receptor, enzyme substrate, or other binding partner chosen for its affinity for the target organism or molecule.

The surface provides a platform such as glass, silicon, gold, or polymer-coated substrates. Immobilization is achieved through chemical linkers and chemistries, including silanization for glass, thiol-gold self-assembly, NHS-ester coupling to amines, click chemistry, or biotin-streptavidin capture.
