Auringonkukkaöljyjen is the Finnish term for sunflower oils. Sunflower oil is a non-volatile oil pressed from the seeds of the sunflower (Helianthus annuus). It is commonly used in cooking as a frying oil, and in cosmetics as a moisturizer.

There are several types of sunflower oil, depending on the fatty acid composition. High oleic sunflower oil is rich in monounsaturated oleic acid and has a long shelf life, making it suitable for frying. Beyond culinary uses, sunflower oil is a common ingredient in soaps, lotions, and other personal care products due to its emollient properties. It is also used in some industrial applications, such as in biofuels and paints. The cultivation of sunflowers for oil is widespread globally, with major producers including Russia, Ukraine, Argentina, and the European Union.
