Atmospherecool is a term used to describe a set of cooling approaches and technologies that aim to reduce ambient air temperatures by leveraging atmospheric processes rather than relying exclusively on conventional mechanical refrigeration. It covers both passive methods that take advantage of natural air movement and humidity, and active devices designed to augment or accelerate these processes for buildings, greenhouses, and light industrial spaces.

Core mechanisms include evaporative cooling, in which water absorbs heat as it evaporates, and radiative cooling, which dissipates heat by emitting infrared radiation to cooler regions of the atmosphere or to the night sky.
