Asun is a term with multiple uses. In Nigerian cuisine, asun (also written as asún) is a spicy grilled meat dish, typically made from goat or lamb, skewered and cooked over charcoal. The meat is seasoned with a hot pepper–based spice mix, commonly known as yaji, and is often served with chopped onions and peppers. Asun is associated with the Yoruba people of southwestern Nigeria and is a variation of suya, distinguished by its preparation and serving style.
