aspektile
Aspektile is a term used in speculative design and material science to describe a class of decorative tiles whose visual appearance depends on viewing angle and lighting. In envisioned implementations, aspectiles display different colors, textures, or patterns as the observer's perspective changes, enabling dynamic surfaces for architecture and interiors.
The effect is achieved through a combination of angle-sensitive pigments, microstructured coatings, and optional active elements.
Manufacture involves applying specialized coatings to tile bodies, often replacing standard glazing with multi-layer interference coatings
Applications include interior accents, façade cladding, and art installations where changing appearance is desirable. Despite interest
