This can include relationships with people of any gender, or no gender, falling under categories like aromantic, biromantic, homoromantic, or panromantic.

The asexual community often uses specific terminology to describe their experiences, such as "gray-asexual" (gray-ace) or "demisexual." Gray-asexual individuals may experience sexual attraction rarely or only under specific circumstances. Demisexual individuals only experience sexual attraction after forming a strong emotional bond with someone. Asexuality is not a choice, a medical condition, or a result of trauma, but rather a valid and natural sexual orientation. Awareness and understanding of asexuality are growing, contributing to greater inclusivity for asexual individuals.
