Asbestos-bearing is the condition of containing asbestos, a generic term used for materials or geological formations that include asbestos fibers. Asbestos fibers are microscopic silicate minerals known for their heat resistance and tensile strength. In construction and industry, products labeled asbestos-bearing may include insulation, fireproofing, roofing, cement, flooring, gaskets, and textiles. Naturally occurring asbestos-bearing rocks and talc- or serpentinite-hosted deposits also exist in some regions.
