Intrauterine devices (IUDs) are another option; these are T-shaped devices inserted into the uterus, either releasing hormones or made of copper, which affects sperm motility and egg implantation.

Permanent methods, such as tubal ligation (for women) and vasectomy (for men), offer a long-term solution by surgically blocking the reproductive passages. Emergency contraception, often referred to as the "morning-after pill," can be used after unprotected intercourse to prevent pregnancy.
