The term "alfarészecskék" is the Hungarian name for a species of bird, commonly known in English as the Red-footed Falcon. This raptor, scientifically classified as Falco vespertinus, belongs to the falcon family (Falconidae). It is a migratory bird, spending its breeding season in Eastern Europe and Asia, and migrating south to winter in sub-Saharan Africa.

Physically, the Red-footed Falcon is relatively small for a falcon. Males are distinguished by their slate-grey plumage, a rusty-red head and underparts, and characteristic bright red legs and feet, from which its English name is derived. Females are more uniformly grey-brown, with lighter barring on their undersides and a less pronounced red coloration on their legs.

These falcons primarily feed on large insects, such as grasshoppers and beetles, which they often catch in mid-air or glean from the ground. They also supplement their diet with small vertebrates like mice and small birds, particularly during the breeding season when food demands are higher. Alfarészecskék are known to nest in colonies, often utilizing abandoned nests of other birds, such as rooks, in trees. Their conservation status is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN, although populations can fluctuate due to habitat changes and prey availability.
