ajalooga

Ajalooga is a town and municipality in the northeastern region of Naloria, situated along the Ajalo River at the foothills of the Linara Mountains. It serves as the administrative center of the Ajalooga District and covers about 38 square kilometers. The population is around 12,000 residents.

Ajalooga was founded in the 12th century by Varin traders who established a river port linking inland farms with regional markets. The town grew as a fortified trading post in the 15th century and became part of the Nalorian state in the 18th century. It gained municipal status in the mid-19th century and modernized after World War II.

The town sits in a river valley with foothill terrain and mixed forests. The climate is temperate with mild summers and cool winters; annual rainfall averages about 700 millimeters.

The economy relies on agriculture, especially apples and cereals, plus light manufacturing and services. Tourism centers on the historic core, the riverfront, and nearby natural areas. Ajalooga is served by a regional rail line and a national highway, and the river handles local traffic.

The historic old town preserves brick merchant houses and the 16th-century Fortress of Kyllén. The Ajalooga Museum of History hosts regional exhibits. The annual harvest festival draws visitors in autumn. Notable natives include writer Eira Solund.
