It is sometimes used interchangeably with afrykańskie, though the latter is the standard form in formal Polish. Afrykaskie tends to show up in worldbuilding, speculative fiction, or discussions that attempt to describe a pan-African cultural or linguistic umbrella without committing to specific subregions or language families.

In linguistic and scholarly discussions, Afrykaskie is not an established term. Mainstream linguistics and anthropology rely on more precise classifications such as Afroasiatic, Niger-Congo, Nilo-Saharan, Khoisan, or other clearly defined language families and regional labels.
