Adverbial quantitative is a term used in linguistics to describe adverbs that express quantity, degree, or extent and function as adverbials within a clause. These adverbs modify the amount or scope of an action, event, or property, rather than naming a quantity as a noun would. They can modify verbs, adjectives, numerals, or entire noun phrases, and often convey approximation, precision, or hedging.

Common members include approximators and degree modifiers such as approximately, about, around, nearly, almost, and roughly, as well as comparative constructs like more than and less than. Examples include almost finished (modifying the verb), nearly half of the participants (modifying a noun phrase by a quantifier), approximately 250 people attended (modifying a numeral), and about ten minutes elapsed. These adverbs can also function with adjectives: nearly impossible, almost identical. In addition, very and completely can intensify degree, while more than and less than quantify over a time or quantity phrase.

Syntactically, adverbial quantitatives typically appear before the element they quantify, forming adverbial phrases such as approximately three hundred or more than five minutes. They may also scope over entire clauses in some languages, contributing to clause-level hedging or emphasis. The exact position and permissible forms vary by language, but the core function remains: to signal how much, how many, or the degree to which something occurs.
