Adenoamel is a rare, benign tumor originating from the salivary glands. The term "adenoamel" is derived from Greek words meaning "gland" and "sweet" or "fleshy," referring to the characteristic appearance of the tumor. These tumors are typically slow-growing and can occur in both major and minor salivary glands, though they are most commonly found in the parotid gland.

Histologically, adenoamels are characterized by a proliferation of both epithelial and myoepithelial cells, often with a cystic or glandular appearance. They can present as a painless mass, and their size can vary. While generally not aggressive, there is a small potential for malignant transformation, which underscores the importance of proper diagnosis and management.

Diagnosis usually involves imaging techniques such as ultrasound, CT, or MRI, followed by a biopsy for definitive histological confirmation. Treatment typically involves surgical excision of the tumor. The prognosis after complete surgical removal is generally excellent, with a low rate of recurrence. However, close follow-up is recommended due to the possibility of recurrence or malignant change in some cases.
