Aconselhes is a civil parish located in the municipality of Granja, within the Santarém District of Portugal. The parish covers an area of roughly 12 square kilometres and had a population of about 2,300 residents according to the most recent census conducted in 2021. Its geographical setting lies within the Grande Alentejo region, characterised by gently rolling farmland and low-lying plains adjacent to the Tagus River floodplain.

The history of Aconselhes dates back to the Roman period, when the area served as a logistical outpost due to its proximity to major routes connecting Lisbon and the interior of the Iberian Peninsula. During the Middle Ages the locality was incorporated into the feudal holdings of the County of Santarém, gradually evolving into a modest agricultural community. In the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the parish saw significant land reforms that redistributed estates among local families, fostering a rise in cooperative farming practices that persist to this day.

Modern Aconselhes is predominantly agrarian, with cereal cultivation, olive groves and vineyards forming the main economic activities. The parish hosts a number of community festivals, most notably the annual Festa de São João, which features traditional music, dance and communal feasts celebrating local produce. Governance is administered via a parish council that reports to the municipal authorities in Granja, focusing on local infrastructure, environmental conservation initiatives, and the promotion of cultural heritage.

The parish maintains several historical monuments, including a 16th-century stone bridge spanning a tributary of the Tagus and a chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Luz, an architectural representation of Baroque architectural influences. Aconselhes also provides access to natural reserves, supporting biodiversity and offering residents and visitors opportunities for outdoor recreation and sustainable tourism.
