Zytolyse

Zytolyse is a term that describes the breakdown or dissolution of a cell. This process can occur under various physiological and pathological conditions. In a biological context, zytolyse can be a normal part of cellular turnover, where old or damaged cells are systematically dismantled. It is also a key mechanism in apoptosis, or programmed cell death, where cells self-destruct in a controlled manner to maintain tissue homeostasis.
