Zrób

Zrób is a Polish word that is a dismissive and oft-exasperated exclamation, roughly translating to "do it yourself" or "figure it out". However, its meaning encompasses a broader range of uses, including expressions of frustration, annoyance, or even a bland acknowledgment of something being done. This versatile word can be uttered in various situations, making it challenging to pin down a specific definition.

Its usage can be seen as a more assertive counterpart to the polite phrase "pomóż", which translates to "help". While "pomóż" implies a helping hand is being offered, "zrób" implies one should be capable of completing a task on their own, without assistance. When used in response to a request for aid, it can be perceived as a brusque dismissal of concern or a veiled expression of distrust in someone else's ability to accomplish a task.

Zrób can also be used to dismiss excessiveness or reluctance to take action. For instance, if someone emphasizes the difficulties of a particular task, a person might say "zrób, to nie jest nic" ("just do it, it's nothing").
