Zervizitis
Zervizitis is a term sometimes used to refer to inflammation of the cervix, the lower, narrow part of the uterus that opens into the vagina. This inflammation is more commonly and medically known as cervicitis. Causes of cervicitis can include infections, such as those caused by sexually transmitted bacteria like chlamydia and gonorrhea, or viruses like human papillomavirus (HPV) and herpes simplex virus (HSV). Non-infectious causes can also contribute, such as allergic reactions to spermicides or latex condoms, or irritation from feminine hygiene products.

Treatment for cervicitis depends on the underlying cause. Bacterial infections are usually treated with antibiotics. Viral
