Yoganandas refers to the disciples and followers of Paramahansa Yogananda, an Indian yogi and guru who is widely credited with popularizing meditation and yoga in the Western world. Yogananda came to the United States in 1920 and founded Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) in 1920, and later Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) in 1917, which he established to disseminate his teachings.
