Yamdrok
Yamdrok, also known as Yamdrok Yumtso or Yamdrok Tso, is a large freshwater lake in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. It lies in the Lhoka (Shannan) Prefecture, southwest of Lhasa, surrounded by the Nyenchen Tanglha mountains and other high peaks. The Tibetan name Yamdrok is commonly understood to mean turquoise, reflecting the lake’s distinctive blue-green color that changes with light and weather.
