The Yamaha YZF-R1, often written as YZFR1, is Yamaha’s flagship litre-class sport motorcycle and a member of the YZF-R series. Introduced in 1998, the YZF-R1 established Yamaha’s sportbike lineup with a purpose-built 1000cc inline-four engine and a lightweight chassis, aimed at high-performance street and track use.
