Wodoszczelno

Wodoszczelno is a Polish term commonly used as an abbreviated form of wodoszczelność, referring to the property of resisting water intrusion. It can describe objects, materials, or structures that are designed to prevent water from entering or passing through.

In Polish, wodoszczelność (water resistance or waterproofing) distinguishes between different levels of protection against water exposure. The degree of protection is usually specified by international or industry standards. The most widely used international framework is the IP code (IEC 60529), which characterizes protection against solids and liquids with two digits. Limitations exist: seals can degrade over time due to wear, temperature changes, or chemical exposure, and no material is perfectly impermeable under all circumstances.
