Võitingimus, also known as vomiting, is a medical condition characterized by the forceful ejection of stomach contents from the mouth and throat. It is a common symptom that can be caused by a variety of factors, including infections, food poisoning, motion sickness, and certain medications. Vomiting can range from mild, occasional episodes to severe, persistent symptoms that may require medical intervention.

The process of vomiting involves the contraction of the diaphragm and abdominal muscles, which forces the contents of the stomach and intestines back through the esophagus and out of the mouth. This reflex is often triggered by the presence of irritants or toxins in the stomach, which stimulate the chemoreceptor trigger zone in the brain.

Projectile vomiting is characterized by forceful, explosive episodes that can result in injury to the mouth, throat, or teeth.

For more severe cases, medical intervention may be necessary, including intravenous fluids, medications to control nausea and vomiting, or procedures to address underlying conditions such as ulcers or blockages.

Prevention of vomiting involves avoiding known triggers, maintaining good hygiene, and practicing safe food handling. In cases of severe or persistent vomiting, it is important to seek medical attention to rule out serious underlying conditions.
