Våtbläggning

Våtbläggning, also known as wet blasting, is a surface treatment process that uses a slurry of abrasive media and water as the blast medium. Unlike dry blasting, which utilizes compressed air to propel abrasive particles, wet blasting suspends the media in water, creating a lubrication effect. This lubrication significantly reduces the dust generated during the process, leading to a cleaner working environment and a reduced risk of respiratory issues for operators.

The water also acts as a coolant, minimizing the heat buildup on the workpiece, which can be beneficial for delicate materials or when precise temperature control is required. The impact of the wet slurry on the surface is generally softer than dry blasting, resulting in a less aggressive surface preparation. This can be advantageous when a finer surface finish is desired or when working with softer metals that might be damaged by dry blasting.

Våtbläggning is employed in various industries for applications such as cleaning, deburring, surface preparation for coating, and achieving specific aesthetic finishes. The abrasive media used can range from fine glass beads and ceramic particles to harder materials like aluminum oxide, depending on the desired outcome and the material being treated.
