Vilni

Vilni is agas field located in the North Sea, about 200 kilometers off the coast of Norway. It is operated by the Norwegian oil company Equinor, formerly known as Statoil. The field was discovered in 2005 and began production in 2009. Vilni has an estimated reserve of 118 million barrels of oil, making it a significant contributor to Norway's oil production.

The field is situated in water depths of around 500 meters and is being developed using a subsea production system, where the oil is pumped through a pipeline to a processing facility on the nearby Draupne field. The field's oil is then transported to the shore through a separate pipeline.

The Vilni field is composed of the Vilni East and Vilni West blocks, both located in the Norwegian Exclusive Economic Zone. The field's reservoir is a chalk formation, which is a type of sedimentary rock that is known for its high porosity and permeability.

The development of the Vilni field has been carried out in two phases. The first phase, which started in 2006, involved the drilling of six production wells and the installation of a subsea production system. The second phase, which began in 2012, involved the drilling of additional wells and the installation of a new processing facility.

The Vilni field is a significant contributor to Norway's oil production, and its development has helped to increase the country's oil reserves. The field is expected to continue producing oil for many years to come, providing a vital source of energy for Norway and the rest of the world.
