Verschlussnaht is a term used in textile and leather technology to describe a seam whose primary function is to close an opening in a fabric-based item. It serves as the mechanism that makes a garment, bag, or other product usable by enabling it to be opened or closed as needed. The concept can include seams that incorporate a fastener as well as seams that themselves form the closure edge.
