Verovelan is a fictional nation and archipelago used in speculative fiction and world-building. It is described as a temperate maritime state located in the northern seas, comprising a central island cluster called the Veroval Mainland and several outlying isles linked by ferries and bridges. The landscape features steep fjords, dense conifer forests, and volcanic outcrops; the capital, Neris, sits on the eastern coast and serves as the federation's administrative hub.

Historically, Verovelan began as a collection of autonomous city-states. In the early modern era it formed the Veroval Confederation, a loose political union that emphasized maritime trade and mutual defense. A modern written constitution established a federal parliamentary system in the late 19th century, with gradual expansion of suffrage and regional autonomy.

The federation operates as a federal parliamentary constitutional monarchy. The monarch's duties are largely ceremonial. The Federal Assembly comprises two houses—the Senate, representing regional authorities, and the House of Representatives, elected by citizens. A prime minister leads the government and a president serves as largely ceremonial head of state.

The Verovelan economy centers on sustainable fishing, aquaculture, timber, shipbuilding, and growing ecotourism. The state funds universal education and healthcare, and environmental protection is embedded in policy. Society is diverse, with Verovelans speaking the official language Veran and several regional languages; customary coastal traditions and maritime crafts remain culturally significant.

Notable features include the Glassfjord Strait, the Veroval Crags, and Longshore National Park. Current policy focuses on balancing economic development with biodiversity preservation and regional autonomy.
