Velalliselle

Velalliselle is a fictional village in a Nordic setting, used here to illustrate a typical rural Finnish parish. It lies in the imaginary region of Pohjois-Suomi, near Lake Velallinen and the Velalliselle River. The settlement covers about 60 square kilometers of mixed forest and farmland and has around 1,100 residents. The economy centers on dairy farming, forestry, and local services.

Velalliselle grew as a railroad-linked farming community in the late 19th century. The parish church, built in 1878, remains a focal point of the village. The historic center preserves several wooden houses from the early 20th century.

The area features boreal forests, lakes, and a temperate climate with cold winters and mild summers. Wildlife includes moose, fox, and a variety of birds.

The village hosts an annual midsummer festival and operates a local cooperative for dairy products. The local school serves primary education; secondary students attend schools in a neighboring town.

Velalliselle is connected by regional roads. The nearest railway station is located about 25 kilometers away. Public services include a municipal office, a small library, and a health clinic.
