Veebibrauser, or web browser, is a software application that enables users to access, retrieve, and render content from the World Wide Web. It requests resources from web servers using HTTP or HTTPS, then interprets HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to display pages. Most browsers provide a user interface with an address bar, navigation controls, tabbed browsing, bookmarks, and private or incognito modes, as well as settings for privacy, security, and extensions.

They have evolved from early text-based systems to complex, multi-process applications emphasizing speed, standards compliance, and user control. By adhering to web standards such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, they enable interoperable access to a vast range of online resources.
