Vbrake
V-brake, short for V-type brake, is a widely used rim braking system for bicycles. It is a type of linear-pull brake that uses longer brake arms and a larger cable pull to generate braking force. The two brake arms pivot on brake bosses mounted on the bicycle’s frame or fork. A cable system with a straddle cable links the arms so that when the lever is pulled, both arms move inward and squeeze the brake pads against the rim to slow or stop the wheel.
Design and operation are characterized by long-pull leverage, which allows strong braking with standard, widely available
History and usage have them closely associated with mountain bikes from the mid-1990s onward. They were introduced
Maintenance and compatibility: V-brakes require long-pull levers or compatible conversion levers, standard rim and pad types,
