Varaparistot

Varaparistot is a Finnish term referring to spare or backup batteries kept for devices to ensure operation when primary cells are exhausted. They are commonly used in households for remotes, flashlights, cameras, and portable electronics, as well as in professional settings and emergency kits where uninterrupted power is desirable.

Batteries fall into primary (non-rechargeable) types such as alkaline and lithium, and secondary (rechargeable) types such as NiMH and Li-ion. The choice depends on device requirements, cost, and how often the battery will be replaced or recharged.
