Valutapaaris
Valutapaaris is a term used in the foreign exchange market to refer to a pair of currencies that are traded against each other. For example, EUR/USD represents the Euro trading against the United States Dollar. The first currency in the pair is known as the base currency, and the second is the quote currency. The exchange rate indicates how much of the quote currency is needed to buy one unit of the base currency.
The major valutapaaris, often referred to as "majors," are the most frequently traded currency pairs globally.
Minor valutapaaris, also known as "crosses," involve two major currencies but do not include the US Dollar.
