Valonmuuttuva is a Finnish term that translates to "light-changing" or "color-changing." It generally refers to a material or phenomenon that exhibits a change in color or appearance in response to variations in light. This can encompass a range of effects, from simple reflectivity to more complex structural color phenomena.

One common example of valonmuuttuva is found in certain pigments and coatings. These materials may contain particles that scatter light differently depending on the angle of incidence or observation. As the light source or the viewing angle changes, the perceived color shifts, creating a shimmering or iridescent effect. This is often utilized in automotive paints, security features on currency, and decorative finishes.
