Valenport

Valenport is a coastal city and port town in the fictional nation of Ardentia, located at the mouth of the Valen River on the southern coast. It serves as the administrative center of Valen Province and functions as a regional economic hub. The urban area covers about 65 square kilometers and has an estimated population of 32,000 as of 2024. The harbor district is the historic core, while the waterfront features new mixed-use development.

Valenport began as a fishing village in the 12th century and developed into a trading port by the 16th century. It gained provincial capital status in the 19th century and grew rapidly after harbor expansions in the early 20th century. The late 20th century saw diversification into light manufacturing and logistics.

Valenport sits in a sheltered bay with access to the open sea via a breakwater. The climate is temperate, with mild summers and wet winters. The harbor accommodates fishing fleets, container traffic, and ship-repair facilities. The surrounding region is low-lying with sporadic hills inland.
