Vaihtoteräkset

Vaihtoteräkset, often translated as interchangeable blades or inserts, are cutting tools designed for use in machining operations. They are typically made of hard materials like tungsten carbide, ceramics, or cubic boron nitride, and are held in place by a toolholder. This system allows for quick and easy replacement of the worn or damaged cutting edge without needing to remove the entire tool from the machine. The primary advantage of using vaihtoteräkset is increased productivity and reduced downtime. When a cutting edge becomes dull, the operator can simply swap out the old insert for a new one, often without interrupting the machining process significantly. This is particularly beneficial in high-volume production environments where tool changes can account for a substantial portion of the cycle time.
