Vaihtonäppäin

Vaihtonäppäin, also known as the Shift key, is a modifier key on most computer keyboards. Its primary function is to alter the input of other keys. When pressed in conjunction with a letter key, it produces the uppercase version of that letter. For example, pressing Shift and 'a' simultaneously results in 'A'. This function is essential for capitalization in writing.

Beyond letter keys, Vaihtonäppäin also modifies the output of number keys and punctuation marks. On many keyboards, the numbers 1 through 0 have alternative symbols above them, such as !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *, (, and ).
