Vaakalaudalla, also known as the "Lip Reading Bench," is a device designed to assist individuals with hearing impairments in understanding spoken language. It was invented by Finnish engineer Lauri Törni in the 1950s. The device consists of a bench with a mirror and a light source, positioned in such a way that the user's face is illuminated and reflected onto a screen.
