Different types of processors, like those found in personal computers (x86) and mobile devices (ARM), have different instruction sets. The instruction set is a crucial part of a processor's design, influencing its performance, power consumption, and compatibility with software. Software, such as operating systems and applications, is compiled into machine code, which is a sequence of instructions from the processor's instruction set.
