The typical workflow begins with installing the WSUS role on a Windows Server. The administrator configures synchronization settings to connect to Microsoft Update, selects product families and update classifications to download, and creates computer groups for targeted deployment. Updates are imported and categorized in the WSUS database, after which administrators approve or automatically approve them for specific groups before deployment to clients.
