Unioncamere

Unioncamere, short for the Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture, is the national association that coordinates and represents Italy’s network of regional and provincial Chambers of Commerce. It acts as the central body within the Italian system of business institutions, guiding policy, collaboration, and development across the country.

The organization provides policy coordination, advocacy, and development programs aimed at supporting businesses and local economies. It promotes internationalization and export, facilitates access to finance and training, and drives digitalization initiatives. Unioncamere also oversees the collection and dissemination of economic and business information, in part through InfoCamere, the IT company owned by the network, which manages data services such as the national business register and related online tools.

Governance and structure are based on the participation of the presidents and representatives of the individual Chambers of Commerce, with a national presidency and board guiding the overall strategy. Unioncamere works closely with the Ministry of Economic Development, regional authorities, and the broader public sector to align policy and services with the needs of Italian enterprises, operating within the framework of the Sistema Camerale, the coordinated system of chambers nationwide.

In its role as a bridge between business communities and public authorities, Unioncamere represents Italian interests in national and international forums, supports cross-border commerce, and engages with European and international chamber networks to foster trade, investment, and economic development.
