Undirforstjórnin

Undirforstjórnin, which translates to "Under forestry" or "Under forest management" in English, is a term used in the Faroe Islands to describe a unique system of forestry management. It is a collaborative approach between the Faroese government and private landowners to manage the country's forests sustainably.

In the early 20th century, the Faroe Islands began to experience widespread deforestation, leading to soil erosion, landslides, and loss of biodiversity.
