Uhlans
Uhlans are a class of light cavalry historically armed with lances, originating in the late 18th century within the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and subsequently adopted by several European powers. The term Uhlan became a generic designation for lancer regiments in German-speaking and neighboring armies, and it came to symbolize a distinctive type of mounted troops trained for rapid reconnaissance, raiding, and flexible skirmishing.
