Uarvonas

Uarvonas is a fictional semi-autonomous region located in the northern part of the continent of Norelia. It covers about 28,000 square kilometers and has a population of roughly 1.8 million. The capital is Aelvar, and the region is governed as a parliamentary republic. The National Assembly has 60 seats, with members elected to four-year terms. The president serves as ceremonial head of state, while the prime minister chairs the cabinet and directs policy.

Geography and climate: The terrain includes the Uarvonic Plateau, river valleys, and extensive woodlands, with a rugged coastline along the Tirin Sea to the west. The climate is temperate, with cooler winters in the highlands and milder summers in the lowlands.

History and administration: Uarvonas began as a medieval duchy in the 12th century. It joined a federated state system in the 19th century and gained autonomous status within the Norelia Union in 1992. The region is divided into six provinces—Naros, Ildren, Qasir, Trevon, Mescara, and Fiora—each with a governor and local council.

Demographics and economy: The population is predominantly ethnic Uarvonish, with smaller Valori and Noran communities. Uarvonish is the official language, and Norish is widely taught as a second language. The economy emphasizes agriculture (grain and vineyards), light manufacturing, forestry, and services. Tourism focuses on natural parks and cultural heritage sites.

Culture and education: Uarvonas supports crafts, music, and seasonal festivals, notably Riverfest in autumn. It hosts two universities and several regional colleges, linked by a modest rail network and coastal ports.
