Tähendamaks

Tähendamaks is an Estonian non-finite verb form, the converb of the verb tähendada, meaning to mean or to denote. It is used to express purpose in a subordinate clause and can be translated roughly as in order to denote or to indicate. The form literally means “in order to signify” and is distinct from the standard infinitive.

Formation and function: Tähendamaks is formed from the stem tähenda- plus the suffix -maks.
