Täckmetoden, a Swedish term roughly translating to "covering method" or "masking method," refers to a technique used in various fields, most commonly in the context of image processing and computer graphics. It involves obscuring or hiding a portion of an image or scene to focus attention on another area or to prevent certain elements from being visible.

In image editing, täckmetoden might be employed to remove unwanted objects, logos, or watermarks from a photograph. This is often achieved by using tools like the clone stamp or healing brush to sample pixels from an adjacent, unobstructed area and then paint them over the unwanted element, effectively covering it up. The goal is to make the covered area blend seamlessly with its surroundings, creating the illusion that the obstruction was never there.

Beyond simple removal, täckmetoden can also be used for artistic purposes, such as creating vignetting effects where the edges of an image are darkened or blurred to draw the viewer's eye towards the center.
